Galway city camino, 2026

The Galway Camino is a self-directed pilgrim walk between 7 holy places in Galway City, viz:

• Galway Cathedral
• The Franciscan Abbey, St Francis Street
• St Nicholas' Collegiate Church
• The Augustinian Church, St Augustine Street
• St Mary's Dominican Church, Claddagh
• The Joseph's Church, Presentation Road
• The Poor Clare Monastery, Nuns' Island

The walk can be done at any time, 

But on Saturday 19 September 2026 there is an organised event.  From 12-noon, participants can:

1. Get a booklet from Galway Cathedral
2. Visit each destination, and get the booklet stamped
3. Return to the Cathedral, by 5:30pm to receive a certificate of completion.

Cost for the booklet:  €5 per person, €4 concession (unemployed/OAP/etc.), or €10 per family.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

There is no specific route for the walk.  One suggestion is shown on the map below.
